Day 2   06/02/07

We began principal photography today.  I was a little apprehensive as we have a very ambitious schedule planned.  We had planned to shoot over 5 pages (3 scenes) today.   On most films we average about 3 pages a day.  Most of our days are planned like this as this is such a huge script and we want to shoot it all in less than 35 days.

We arrived at the location and it was beautiful.  It had rained all night the night before, so it was not too hot just right.  The main issue with the location was that it was over a quarter mile from the nearest parking lot and due to the protected species of grasses on the location we were not allowed to drive down to the location, so it was a long walk with equipment.  thankfully we have a pretty large crew so this was not a huge inconvenience. The inconvenience came with the power, the nearest power was also at the parking lot so to charge batteries and transfer the footage shut us down for about 30-45 minutes a time.

The HD footage is beautiful and the DP, Tony Ontiveros is amazing.  He has a great eye and is able to make camera setups go very fast.

The cast was wonderful today. This is difficult and involved text and the actors brought their best performances to the able today.  It was great to watch them work and play the script with such perfection.  I am very happy with all of the performances and much thanks goes out to the actors and my great casting director, Justin Zimmerman for finding such talent.

We wrapped today at 745 PM and made the day.. We got everything shot that we had planned and it went very well.  Thanks to everyone involved.

Scenes shot: 44, 45, 46
